The Cardiff Steiner Kindergarten provides day care for children aged 3 to 7, five days a week at the Early Years Centre in Adamsdown. It also runs Parent and Toddler groups at the Centre and in St Catherine’s Church Hall Canton.
Steiner Waldorf education allows children to embrace childhood. As an alternative to the state education system, Steiner Schools nurture and encourage creativity and imagination to develop without the pressures of early testing and the competition of others within the classroom. Through this, Steiner School children become keen to learn, they play hard, and develop life long social skills which mean much more than grades and test results.
Our holistic and organic approach promotes a healthy, ethical childhood – these are all ideas that remain with the children through to adult life. We try to be ethical in everything that we do from homemade organic snacks and recycling to ethical banking with the Co-op.
Steiner education is much more than a school of thought; it is a lifestyle, with like-minded families and friends around you like a supportive community from the day your child starts for as long as you want to be involved. With a wealth of festivals and fundraising events, you can remain in our Kindergarten family even after your child has left.
Steiner Waldorf education is a worldwide movement, and is, in various ways, similar to Montessori and Forest School educations. For more information visit www.steinerwaldorf.org.uk or have a look at the other pages on our website to see how our wonderful Kindergarten nurtures childhood during the most important years of a child’s life.
