Class 1/2 and Class 3/4 Teachers

Class 1/2 and Class 3/4 Teachers

Starting September 2012
Salary £16,000 - £20,000

Cardiff Steiner Early Years Centre is a thriving city centre Steiner Waldorf Kindergarten. We currently have two busy kindergartens with 32 children aged 3 to 7, and eight Parent and Toddler groups for over 100 children aged 0-3 both at the Centre and in local communities around Cardiff.

We are opening a vibrant Steiner School offering a living Steiner curriculum in September 2012, and are in advanced negotiations to secure new premises to accommodate our long term growth. We will be a fully independent school and will not be applying for Free School or Academy status (which the Welsh Assembly Government do not support).

Established in 1997 by a group of parents, the Centre has grown steadily, and now has an experienced and committed team of 15 teaching staff providing Steiner Waldorf Early Years Education five days a week at the Centre: comprising 2 Kindergarten Teachers, 4 Kindergarten Assistants, 2 Eurythmy Teachers, 2 Forest School Leaders, 2 Afternoon Care Leaders and 3 additional Parent & Toddler Group Leaders. We are supported by a full time Administrator, an active and dedicated board of Trustees and a supportive, engaged parent body.

We are looking for two committed and motivated people, with the ability to relate to and inspire children, to become our founding Class Teachers with our first children in two combined classes, a Class 1/2 and a Class 3/4. The classes will comprise both children moving up from our Kindergartens, former Kindergarten children and other children transferring in from mainstream and home education.

It's an exciting opportunity to get in right at the beginning - to pioneer, and be an integral part of the important growth of Steiner Education in Wales’ capital city.
