What is Steiner Education
Steiner Waldorf Education is the largest and fastest growing independent school system in the world. The distinctive curriculum fosters a lifelong love of learning based on the needs of the whole child – academic, physical, emotional and spiritual.
In a caring, homely environment, younger children realise their creativity, grow in confidence, and develop a deep care and respect for each other and the world we live in.
From age 7 all children study a rich and balanced range of subjects grounded in the stages of child development. These include all recognised subjects of the national curriculum as well as some specific to the Steiner curriculum. Core subjects are taught in thematic blocks (Main Lessons) with a balance of artistic, practical and intellectual content, with engaging, real world learning experiences.
This inspiring and nourishing education aims to develop well-rounded, imaginative, capable young people with a strong sense of self-belief, motivation, responsibility and purpose.

Steiner Waldorf education allows children to embrace childhood. As an alternative to the state education system, Steiner Schools nurture and encourage creativity and imagination to develop without the pressures of early testing and the competition of others within the classroom. Through this, Steiner School children become keen to learn, they play hard, and develop life long social skills which mean much more than grades and test results.
Steiner Waldorf education is a worldwide movement, and shares some common ground with Montessori and Forest School educations. For more information visit the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship

Being personally acquainted with a number of Steiner students, I can say they come closer to realising their own potential than practically anyone I know.
