Jamie May – Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo)

Jamie joined the School in 2019 and worked with us as a teacher before becoming our Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo) in 2021.

Jamie is an experienced and qualified classroom teacher and has always had an interest in education and child development. She has a BA (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status, and has many years’ experience of working with children and young people with additional needs from birth to age 18, both in a school setting, as a foster parent and as a link for multi-disciplinary teams.

Jamie has been interested in Steiner Waldorf Education since family members attended a UK Steiner School and has previously worked in the School  as our Lower School Classes Assistant and a fixed term Lower School Class Teacher.

Jamie has extensive experience of working with children with additional learning needs including developmental delay, ASD, ADHD, attachment disorder and dyspraxia. Jamie also has training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) – a model of caring which helps support and form secure attachments with children and young people who may have experienced difficulties in early life.
