India brings a lifelong connection to Steiner education and a rich background in therapeutic arts to her role as Class Assistant and Social and Imaginative Skills (SAIS) Leader at Cardiff Steiner School. Having attended a Steiner school herself, she experienced firsthand the transformative impact of its creative curriculum and supportive community, an experience that deeply shapes her approach in the classroom today.
As well as a Class Assistant in our Lower School, India leads SAIS afternoons with our youngest classes. These play-based afternoons use engaging stories, hands-on crafts and imaginative indoor and outdoor play, to help children build social connection and confidence through creative, child-led activities.
Holding a background in Creative and Therapeutic Arts, India has worked with diverse groups across educational, care and community settings, focusing on participant-led, nature-based learning, using foraged materials and accessible techniques to build children’s skills and confidence. Outside of school, India’s personal arts practice includes crochet, whittling, foraging and baking.
