Jessica Kelly – Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo)

Jessica is a qualified teacher with extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of additional learning needs across primary and secondary settings, including independent and state schools in the UK and internationally.

She is deeply committed to inclusive, holistic education, specialising in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs and guiding staff in inclusive practices. Jessica believes in nurturing the whole child – intellectually, emotionally, and physically- and in creating learning environments where every pupil feels seen, understood, and supported.

As ALNCo, Jessica also contributes to the school’s restorative practices, drawing on her expertise in relationship-based learning, emotional literacy, and trauma-informed approaches. She is skilled at designing practical, personalised strategies and working closely with children, families, and staff to help learners overcome challenges while celebrating their individual strengths.

Prior to joining Cardiff Steiner School, Jessica taught English and Humanities at Westbourne School in Penarth for four years, where she also served as Middle School Pastoral Lead and Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator.

Jessica was particularly drawn to the ALNCo role at Cardiff Steiner School because of the opportunity it offers to work within a pedagogical framework that values each child’s individuality and sees difference as an opportunity for growth.
