Lucy joins us as Upper School Art Teacher in September 2025. Lucy is a highly experienced artist and educator, holding a PGDE in Art & Design from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the University of Brighton.
She brings over 23 years of experience teaching Art at UWC Atlantic College, St Donats, where she was responsible for the design and delivery of the IB Visual Arts course, co-ordinating five visiting Art teachers, organising annual art exhibitions and whole-school creative showcase events.
Alongside her academic work, Lucy has extensive pastoral experience as a boarding house tutor for international students, supporting university guidance, wellbeing, and life skills, and has practical creative experience as a prop maker, set dresser and freelance artist.
Lucy’s teaching approach celebrates hands-on, experiential learning, encouraging students to be lateral thinkers and creative problem-solvers. She brings a broad portfolio of skills across crafts, fine art, and immersive technology, with a particular emphasis on sustainability, environmental awareness, and international understanding. She is passionate about inspiring students to explore their creativity while making meaningful connections across subjects.
Lucy is excited to join Cardiff Steiner School, bringing her wealth of experience, creativity, and dedication to nurture confident, imaginative, and engaged young artists.
